Protopasta is my filament supplier of choice for fun materials and great service!
It appears I am the first reviewer, so I'll try to provide a thorough review!
This materials printed successfully on the first try at 240C nozzle / 50C bed on a Prusa Core One with the satin sheet. The filament was dried overnight at 55C and printed from the drying box, which achieved 15% RH. Feeding the filament was mostly easy, although I did need to disable the second filament sensor, which did not detect anything, for some reason.
The material is definitely pliable; however, note that the icosahedron in the product photo seems to have been printed with no infill to achieve that degree of squishiness. The test I did with 15% infill is quite a bit stiffer than that.
The surface of the print is quite shiny, sometimes reflecting more light than what it allows to pass through from behind. Layer lines @ 0.2mm are easily visible. With two perimeters, it is translucent when backlit and transparent enough to show the infill pattern clearly. The same print is more transparent in this clear TPU than the Iridescent Ice Clear Translucent HTPLA. It is not as clear as what can be achieved with IPA-smoothed PVB.
Great price, and I'm glad to see you're recycling old but still good material instead of filling up a landfill with it. An odd color, but fine for what I plan to do with it. Kudos!
This is my current favorite filament. I’ll love the randomness of the colors, and the intensity variation. It does rainbow without being boring. Many Prints one out looking like Tie Dye, which I am delighted by.
Love this filament. I printed a beautiful floral stencil for my daughter's window, which changes color to yellow during the day.
Great quality. Some slight stringing did occurbut the overall quality is fantastic
This filament is like nothing else I’ve ever seen. It’s got a depth to the color even though it’s translucent. It’s beautiful and rich and no matter what you make in it, I promise it’ll be beautiful. We’ve used it every holiday for something Halloween Christmas and valentines now. It’s a MUST for the color catalogue.
So pretty and prints out very smooth. Will buy again!
Great for children toys that should glow at night with some black light.
Very deep red translucent color. Great color for enclosures.
Great colors, easy order fast shipping. Worth the price 100%
Printed a lot of items with this filament. The results are great. It is hard to convey via video or photo the color is very deep and nicely translucent.
